Payment Methods
Credit card or debit card. In exceptional circumstances, we can accept bank transfers and cash (except for the initial session).
When to Pay
| Initial session | A $20 non-refundable deposit will be charged upfront. It will go towards the total fee payable at the end of your initial session. |
| Follow up sessions | The full fee can be paid after your session. |
| Online booking | The full fee is requested to be paid upfront for each online booking. Contact us via bookings@lightenedpsychology.com.au to request a booking if you prefer to pay after the session. Please leave your name, number, and a brief message, we will get back to you within two business days. |
| Booking with concessions | Contact us via bookings@lightenedpsychology.com.au to request a booking. Please leave your name, number, and a brief message, we will get back to you within two business days. |
| Booking within 24 hours | The full fee is requested to be paid upfront due to our 24-hour cancellation policy. |
Private Health Insurance
Coverage will depend on the policy you hold. Please check with your insurance cover for psychology services.
We will provide a tax receipt at the end of your session for your claim. Some insurance company may require the Item Code on the receipt. Please check with them to obtain their specific Item Code.
Private health insurance cannot be used with Medicare Benefits at the same time.
Medicare Rebates
- Visit your General Practitioner (GP) to obtain a referral and a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) if you are eligible for the Medicare Benefits.
- Email the referral letter and MHCP to bookings@lightenedpsychology.com.au as early as you can to enable enough time for processing.
- This will enable you to claim a Medicare rebate of $93.35 per session, for a maximum of 10 sessions per calendar year.
- Medicare rebates can usually be claimed immediately after each session.
- Medicare rebates do not cover report writing.
